Oh shit you can do thirty pushups? Well guess the fuck what, I could do 100 and pirouettes and arials, and back hand springs and back flips and hella shit and I still had a thigh gap. Sit down and shut the fuck up.

Anonymous asked: From that blog post you just reblogged: "Someone saying to you, “You’re so thin! Eat a sandwich!” is not hate. It’s that person being a douchebag." Exactly describes "fat oppression/hate" as well.
Anonymous asked: the thing that really grinds my gears about that post was that they differentiated between ~hate~ and ~teasing~ as if thin people are never actually HATED for their bodies. which isn't fucking true, AT ALL. I've been teased, jokingly told to eat more, etc. I've been outright hated, told to go kill myself because I deserve it, etc. because I'm thin. maybe if we weren't told...
Here is a thing that makes me so mad.
This is a long but interesting post. My reply will be at the bottom.
welcometobethville:
It’s not often that I get so mad at a thing that I have to go to my Tumblr to talk about it. I tend to keep politics, religion, and anger away from Welcome to Bethville! because it is very sensitive and prone to fits of crying. But over here, on Welcome to Bethville: The Tumblr Edition, we talk about all...

fatuglyandfat:
This doesn’t happen to me, because well i am fat. But i hate it when people describe skinny people as “anorexic”. It’s not a look it is a disease! I’m just mad because this gets to my friend alot and she hates these comments that she gets. It hurts her esteem and for someone as beautiful as her it pains me to see her in pain. D:< SO STOP IT! Those guilty of this, your ignorance...
Anonymous asked: You and your blog seem to be thin positive, but in a way that doesn't throw fat people under the bus. I've never read anything on here that comes across as shaming of anyone. Most fat positive blogs I've seen can't manage to support themselves without tearing others down. Even though your blog may not be meant to be body positive towards everyone (because it specifies thin), it...

This blog is not about weight; this blog is about being thin.
If that isn’t obvious, then I think you need to look at the name of this blog again.
amberissorawr asked: Ok, I just looked at some of your post's and, I don't get you at all. I get that your thin and proud but you seem rude and arrogant towards people that have different beliefs to yourself, such as "thigh gaps are ugly" or whatever, I just don't get it.

so theres a lingerie store downtown that I like. they cater to girls my size. basically from sizes 00-4. they make really nice lingerie, wedding lingerie, corsets, bathing suits. recently i read a post about someone complaining about that store and how it’s “thin privilege” and “promoting anorexia”. Back the fuck up. so plus sized people can have plus sized stores...

If fat people can love their flabs, why can’t skinny people love their bones?
Don’t make a skinny person feel bad just because you feel fat, some agencies have their own interests.

Resentment of the Day: Abercrombie CEO Criticized for Being Ugly in Many Ways
Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries is facing intense criticisms and mockeries after a news article criticizing his advocacy of anti-plus-size policy reached on the front page of Reddit last night. In an interviewwith Business Insider published last week, retail industry analyst Robin Lewis claimed...
iwannaearnmythinprivilege asked: Actually, I wasn't surprised about the A+F CEO comments about not carrying larger sizes and not catering to "unattractive" people. Now did I get my granny panties in a bunch about it? Nope. Also, not all thin people shop at A+F/like their clothes. A+F's CEO loves controversy by saying things like that. There are people who love A+F and think like A+F CEO, so be it.

… um, i don’t exactly know how i stumbled onto this, but there’s this massive tumblr fight going on between different blogs over who’s more privileged, fat people or skinny ones. at least i think so. the actual content of people’s arguments was difficult to extract between all the “hun”, “listen BITCH”, “you don’t know who i am, you don’t know my story, YOU HAVE NO IDEA...

A+F
I feel like I should weigh in.
First off, I have very mixed feelings about this. For one thing, it’s a company, if they don’t want to sell certain sizes they don’t have to. Example. Zara sells different shirts in selected sizes; one shirt may be carried in XS and S, while another shirt is carried in M-XL. It’s their company, if they want to limit themselves that’s...

Thin privilege is making the false equivalence between having a relatively difficult time finding a well-fitting prom dress you absolutely love and finding a prom dress PERIOD.
…and knowing you’re probably not going to love it, and just hoping you might kinda like it and that it won’t need too many alterations to be reasonably wearable by the time prom rolls around.

Can you spot the grammatical error?

thin privilege is being afraid to wear shorts when it’s hot out. thin privilege is feeling like you don’t deserve to eat.
Sorry guys but I’m kind of a stickler for grammar, might have something to do with the fact that I currently teach English for a living and my mom was an English major during her undergrad. But yeah. This basically says...
social-schmetterling-navidean asked: Sorry. Ignorance puts me in a bad mood. And they were bashing ATL for supposed "false" information, while spreading their own false information that is actually false.
you-can-make-it-out asked: I saw thin privilege blog a little confused i'd never heard bout it before. wtf?! I've always been naturally thin. I've NOT experienced this in fact I got called anorexic jokingly by friends, comments on how little i ate ppl staring whispering all cos i didnt eat alot at lunch it made me more self conscious. I spent yrs trying to gain weight i couldnt keep it on though. So what about...

Anonymous asked: where the hell did ATL get the idea that weight was hereditary? is this nonsense about fat genes really spreading around? how do they account for the 50 thousand+ years humans were thin? did this new fat gene spring up in the last 50years? or are they somehow ignoring the fact mcdonalds came into play around the same time that 'fat gene' was suddenly activated? honestly they are...
coldplayism asked: that person has just said that they've successfully lost weight- what's going on ATL?!
nipofparsley asked: Thanks for the response! I've been really confused, cause I understand some parts of 'thin privilege' like someone who has a fast metabolism being UNABLE to comprehend why some people have more trouble losing weight. But still, I've kinda just started portion control (6'3, was at 235 pounds, want to be 210) and I've lost like... 10 pounds in a month, and it feels...

So I was chubby growing up. At around the end of my high school years I decided to get into shape. If I was to be spotted by someone who posts on this blog regularly I would probably be silently hated and made fun of later on this same blog. Somebody would talk about how much “privilege” I was oozing. Why is that? If you work hard at something then why is it considered a...

Dear Tumblr,
I find it rather appalling that when I decide to look at the tag reflecting my body type, skinny, there is a notice about counseling and what not. That’s when my curiosity struck, and I decided to see if there was the same thing on the fat tag. Low and behold there wasn’t. What makes it OK to assume anyone looking at the skinny tag has an eating disorder. I will make a concession that...

Someone please explain thin privilege to me and why it is legitimate? What does it mean?
Thin privilege isn’t legitimate, that’s all you need to know. “thisisthinprivilege” is a bunch of people with self image issues taking it out on the world instead of reflecting. Understandable, but also unacceptable the way they do it.
Anonymous asked: interesting how those people get pissed when you respond to one of their posts. did they somehow conveniently forget that they are posting on an open access public blog? although it may explain why so many people are posting half naked to naked pictures of themselves as well.
social-schmetterling-navidean asked: I just spent two hours clothes shopping... And I have never felt more discouraged in my life. No size of pants for me (ones that fit my waist are too short, ones that are the right length are too big in the waist) and I just feel awful right now :(

Why I like being thin
To balance out all the negative posts on here, I figured it was time for a positive one. Let me make this clear, this is written for me to be proud of my body. Please read that again, TO BE PROUD OF MY BODY. This in no way reflects upon anyone else, or what I think others who do not have my body type. These are simply reasons why I enjoy being thin.
So here we go:

(When I wrote this,) I’ve probably had about 15 min sleep in the past 21 hours and I won’t be able to get more for another three hours. Here’s how I’m looking at it.
